Does anyone know if the Futeko version is the same as the other version from China? Or is the Futeko version of the hardware better setup for English as was the case with the Q5.
Thanks
Thanks

I would think a player would just need to be compliant to "bitstream" Dolby-vision, with no need for an extra chip, but the actual TV or Projector would definitively need the chip in order to be able to decode the dolby video data.
Could anybody help to shed some light ?
Thank you !
When I asked this question in the Pi thread, I was told that even though my TV (LG OLED) has the chip in it, unless the media box has the chip, it wouldn't be able to process it. I get DV from the webos based netflix and Amazon app on the TV itself. Also, if you are using an AV receiver in between, the receiver needs to support DV with the chip too.
Check this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYiEK9W5-Ho
They seem have a Dolby Vision demo running, with a prototype Q5 Pro - this would imply no chip required on the media player, only at the TV (Assuming this was not a fake demo !)
Good discussion - I hope we get to the bottom of it.
Regards.

Actually they are even more noticeable now then before. Maybe it's just this video I will try another one later.

I use 1080p 50Hz display setting (FHD TV) with 24Hz option enabled. Just like with 1.0.3.
However I don't think this has anything to do with the framerate switch bug. I think this is still the 23.976 microshutters on any resolution problem.

I configured 1080p/60Hz and 24Hz mode off and the microshutters are gone (or very rare). I keep testing but this looks promising.Good. I'll try. But: if you set 24Hz to off, how it can switch to 24 hz with this kind of files?

(2016-07-18, 16:45)aelfwine Wrote: Other question: why don't we see shutters on 60Hz with 23.976 material? If it's a rounding problem then the error should be occur on 60Hz as well. Or it's there and we just don't see it because the much higher refresh rate?...eventhough, yesterday i tried with your settings (1080p60 24hz off) and 23.976 material on 60hz is continuing stuttering (on my Pana Plasma FullHd). So is worst.

Okay, just tested... they all play, and smoothly* as well. This was via HiMedia (native) player, and f/w v1.0.5. Are we going to see real world applications of profile 5.2 videos, 1080p and 2160p?

24Hz mode should be off with this.
