Wat "width" to choose for the EPG Timeline-Girid itemlayout?

the Wiki isnt clear there.

so.., to what is this widht related to? By playing around i experienced some problems if the wrong "width" was choosen.

so what to use? what is it related to? did also have a look in the skinning manual and wasnt able to finde propper infos, so would be nice if someone could throw some light on this.

Both layouts resize automatically. As far as I tested, you can give any width you might want, KODI handles the sizing by its own. I've set mine to 100 as for the background id="14" and rulerlayout (I think they have to match but not sure).
What kind of problems are you experiencing ?

I'm pretty sure there's a ratio between elements that needs to be respected. I've played a lot with it and I think there's a bug when the autosized itemlayout / focusedlayout reach the exact amount of timeblocks x rulerunit or something like this. Try playing with those last two to see if it changes something (what did the trick for me was to set one even, one odd). Working with EPG is really about fine tuning these values.

Which kodi versions?
PVR got quite some changes lately, perhaps it was fixed by this here for example: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/9265

Noticed that in Jarvis. Not yet tested the PVR part on Krypton but this could be. I often got this window popup showing the "loop" thing or just kept stuck in frozen KODI.
My tuned values allowed me to keep it stable 99% of the time but still got some issues in few rare cases.

The loop issue has been fixed iirc. Was facing it with Jarvis,too. But since Krypton it's gone.
