[KODIBUNTU] No Audio over HDMI
#1
Hello .
I need help.
I installed kodibuntu on mini-itx based PC but audio over HDMI doesn't work.
The motherboard is nvidia Ion chipset based.
I searched on www a solution but I don't find it. So I hope you can help me.

This is the terminal output:

This may be a silly question but did you switch it to HDMI output in Kodi?

Yes, I did.
No audio in kodi also.

Ok i will post the debug log soon....

But... The problem is in the Desktop Environment also.
Don't you think I must solve it in Lubuntu?

if

speaker-test -c 2 -Dplughw:1,3 does nothing and alsamixer -c1 has nothing muted then you got a problem :-)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I cannot see your Debug Log ... so further is not possible.

I am somewhat in the same boat as this. Until now I was running my setup using the optical out in my box but had to change to HDMI due to changing my speaker setup. I get a result when running "speaker-test -c 2 -Dplughw:1,3" and have nothing muted in alsamixer -c1(not really sure what I am checking with those commands)

Must also be said though, that after some fiddling with the alsa configs, that now kodi has greyed out "audio output device". Before i fiddled with the configs no matter what I chose in audio output device, it still never gave me any sound. Also oddly, i have 4 hdmi devices in alsa but no idea why as I only have one internal port (on the motherboard and one external (external Nvidia GFX card)

Code:
xbmc@xbmc-GA-E350N-USB3:~$ aplay -l
