Hello! I'm new to the forum. I'm a programmer that specializes in C++. As far as I can tell, there isn't a sub-forum for this kind of question, because it involves coding for something other than the core.
I want to make a personal fork of Kodi for a very specific purpose, but the code is...well...enormous. The idea is (kind of) simple - I want to add black bars all around a playing video (resized, of course - therefore shrinking the video), and render subtitles off to the side in a similar fashion to how text accumulates in a traditional chat room. All of this would be toggled with a check-box or something. I have some friends who want to watch some of my Japanese imports, but their reading abilities in terms of speed are quite lacking.
Can a dev or something help me narrow the search a little bit?
And of course, if I violated any rules of any kind by posting this, I apologize.
