Display Trouble Status, not blank screen, on external problem
#1
I run Kodi 16.1 on Windows 10 and Pi2 boxes (OSMC) with a basement server running Lubuntu 14.04.
The server runs the shared mysql database for the Kodi boxes.
Recently I have had a server failure (part of an upgrade) and soon later an ethernet hub failure.
In both cases the Kodi boxes ended up with blank screens with no immediate info to locate the problem.
No easy access by ssh, no visible way to get a command prompt on screen, yet Kodi was still running
(I concluded later).. The blank screen is probably a consequence of no source of media files. no database
access, no valid network connection.

How about a simple diagnostic feature that displays something useful in this sort of external fault condition.
Perhaps just timeout and then display the top level menu so a "user" could use the remote
(eg: SYSTEM--->System Info)
