Hi There.

New to this forum. Great project on Libreelec!

I've updated Libreelec to the last nightly build, running on a Z8300 Cherry Trail box (Intel) (Was WIndows 10). Video is fine via HDMI and I get picture and sound. Issue I have is no sound output from MP3's / Spotify streams etc. The sound starts quickly, for a few seconds, stops, locks Kodi and causes a restart of Kodi, every time. The ALSA driver is in play and HDMI is connected to a Yamaha amp. Only other sound driver referenced is Blue Tooth, not in use.

Personally I'd expect video issues, not simple MP3/AAC sound problems. Is there anything I can do, log, to try and resolve this. Ive tried disable pass through/enable, video output changes all to no avail. No settings within Kodi change the outcome of the Kodi restart in Libreelec.

Apart from this I have Spotify working, plex kodi connect, chrome browser working, and its fine most of the time, except no sound from any form of music, including Radio tuners...

Any help appreciated, and happy to sacrifice current setup and overwrite as needed.

Thanks.

Upload your crashlog (see note #4, first post), then post your link.

Thanks Milhouse.

You pointed me in the direction of the logs, so I had a look at the stacks upwards and found reference to a thread each time for waveforhue, which is a visualiser for audio, that was set! I removed it and set to none. Surprise Music now plays through to the amp! I'll try a few other things to check, but I guess that that addon is no good in Kodi 17 or something and crashes the audio player!

Thanks again, any further issues as I'm going to use the box with your builds on as 'live', I'll let you know. I'll continue to update daily as much as possible. Cheers!

HW VAAPI decoding of PAL MPEG2 using software deinterlacing (Deinterlace/Bob) gives black screen during FF.
Doesn't happen on NTSC material.

Can you identify the first build with this issue?

This morning before heading for work did some tests. And I was too hasty to say "recent". I tried all the way up to build #1013 and I still get a black screen when FastForwarding, but not Rewinding. This evening I'll try with the 7.0.2 Jarvis or continue going backwards with the Krypton builds.
I use the Chromebox (CN60) so it's an Intel Celeron 2955U. No dual boot, HDMI output. My Kodi GUI is set to 1920x1080@50p with VAAPI HW decoding for all compressions alongside Yadif deinterlacing. The playback PAL files are just simple European Satellite MPEG2 captures (no recompression whatsoever) so just pure Transport streams. Happens as well with Program streams (VOB files) from DVD rips. Like I wrote before using one of the hardware VAAPI deinterlace methods doesn't cause the black screen when FF-ing, only one of the software ones. And only PAL 50i files. I'll also post a log file from the most recent build just in case.
I'm curios if anybody can reproduce what I'm experiencing. I believe I have narrowed down the conditions of when its happening.

I'm giving up. Tested up to build #0815 and the problem is always present. Guess I was always using different deinterlacing and was convinced I was using Yadif. Also I stand corrected the problem is present in NTSC files as well.

So HW VAAPI MPEG2 decoding with software deinterlacing (Interlaced/Bob) during FF gives black screen. At least in my case.

Tested the 7.0.2 Jarvis with the same files and the problem is not present. Guess it's Krypton.
hi there,

Switched to LibreELEC (Krypton) v7.90.008 ALPHA two days ago and found FTDI FT232R based IR remote (e.g. MonCaso 312/320 case) is not working anymore. It used to work just fine with OpenElec.I followed this WiKi: http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/MonCas...TDI_FT232R (actually written by me), which worked every time in OpenELEC but LibreELEC. Any one has any idea? Really appreciate any help.

The driver appears to be loading correctly. Can you post the output from "lsmod | sort" when run on OpenELEC and LibreELEC.

There have been several kernel updates since your OpenELEC version so please check nothing has changed there which may mean your guide is no longer accurate. In addition, LibreELEC is based on LIRC 0.9.4 while OpenELEC uses an older version. Are you able to confirm if input is being received on /dev/ttyUSB0?

It appears to be similar, apart from the size. Two outputs are pasted below:

You can try build #1125x which has CONFIG_USB_MON=m enabled: Generic

With build #1125x you can enable usbmon and see what data is coming from the FTDI USB device:
Code:
modprobe usbmon
cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/usbmon/3u | grep ":002:"

where 3 is the bus, and 002 is the device (check the current FTDI bus/device using lsusb)

Then press some buttons on the remote and see what appears - it might be gibberish, but this is the best I can suggest (there might be better options from other people).

I updated to #1125 and the option to enable Bluetooth was missing in the LibreELEC settings. My Harmony remote, connected through Bluetooth, would not work. I went back to #1124 and the option was present and remote working again.

Thanks, Bluetooth also seems to be non-functional on RPi3 too. Best guess right now would be something wonky with the /usr PR:805 - will try and get fixed for the next build.

Could have something to do with the settings add-on, I'll have a look

Edit: sorted it. Will be fixed in the next build
