v16 No Sound Amplification
#1
Folks,

Don't know if this is Raspberry Pi specific or not but I have two different R-Pi devices connected to TVs in my home.

I used to use the volume amplification option to get a decent adjustable sound level on my TVs but of late this has absolutely no effect and I have to have my TVs on maximum volume to get an acceptable level.

This obviously changed with an update as I regularly used this feature but I do not know when it changed.

Both TVs are connected via analogue and not HDMI.

I have tried various system setting alterations but all to no avail.

Any comments appreciated.

Do you have omxplayer enabled or disabled? Does the behaviour change if you change this?

Strangely, disasbled omxplayer and sound amplification working now.

Thank you for that, thought omxplayer was the only suitable video player.

Just had the same issue on my Pi 2, and this fixed it for me as well. I would never, ever been able to figure that out on my own.

Thank you. :-)
