hi,
would it be possible to implement a way of opening programs with a command line ? (ala evolutionx)

perhaps a new type of shortcut (.scut perhaps) which still displays when 'only show default.xbe' is selected and appears as a default.xbe and also allows icons?
perhaps also if the shortcut file is found in the same directory as default.xbe, it will only show the shortcut to allow for command lines?

How about adding more command line switches?

When I'm starting XBMC, I'm either going to want to use my TV's built in speakers via HDMI (i.e. SPDIF front on my mobo) or my connected Pioneer receiver (SPDIF rear on my mobo). Ideally I'd like to be able to setup the built-in hotkeys on my keyboard to choose which audio source to activate when I'm launching XBMC. Much easier than doing so through the GUI.

As I see from this thread, there are only 2 switches currently (-fs and -p).

Another possibility I see for this is launching different profiles; I would love to choose whether to load my General or my Adult profiles based on which hotkey I use to launch XBMC.
