Theres still updates that we dont have from afedchin needed to be built to get us a better working version,

heres whats needs to be built.

https://github.com/afedchin/xbmc/tree/msdk_mvc_wip

instructions how to do it

http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Compile_Kodi_for_Windows

So calling on any kodi users using 3D with the know how to build this properly (ive tried and failed) im asking on behalf of everyone to give it a go and see if we can get an updated version.

Thanks in advance

KodiSetup-20160504-56bd103-msdk_mvc_wip.exe continues to work for Nvidia nicely.
Still buffers when seeking but does so reliably.
I suspect this is inherent to v.17 and not particular to this build.
Thanks for the update.

Posting some feedback here in case it is missed in the other thread:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2333658

An update to yesterday's post:

Build Info: Kodi MVC WIP 20160505

Hardware: Intel NUC DN2820FYKH with Intel Celeron N2830 CPU, Windows 10 Professional 64bit, Intel® HD Graphics driver-version 10.18.10.4338

Debug Logs:
Everest MVC MKV (created with MakeMKV) http://xbmclogs.com/peqvzgcof
Finding Nemo MVC MKV (created with MakeMKV) http://xbmclogs.com/pfwepqi3s

Description: When skipping in MVC MKV files with TrueHD/ATMOS sound about about 85% of the time CPU usage increases to 100% and remains there while video slows to a halt.

Screenshots: Screenshots taken during video playback were blank. If helpful I can snap a pic/video with my phone.

How to reproduce: Play an MVC MKV file with TrueHD/ATMOS sound and chapter skip.

Finding Nemo seems to have slightly better chances of a successful chapter skip for whatever reason. There seems to be no problem with DTS-MA. I have tried disabling bitstreaming of TrueHD.

When doing a chapter skip the video actually progresses to the new chapter but the play timer starts back at 0:00> audio loss> slow video> video freeze. I have tested quite a few movies now (Everest, Finding Nemo, Minions, In the Heart of the Sea) and have also tried turning off TrueHD Capable Receiver. I also tried switching off 3D while playing which seemed to have no effect.

There is a new build available.

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/win32...vc_wip.exe
http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/win32...vc_wip.pdb

Changelog: Fix possible build hang if ffmpeg build failed.

I have updated my findings:

Yeah, that test build is working great so far in my limited testing of it on a new PC. (Haven't attempted watching an entire movie or anything, though).

The only nitpick I have is that sometimes it doesn't set my Samsung TV back to 60Hz but instead leaves it at 24Hz after the video has stopped, but I've seen that before with other apps as well.

But this is exactly what I have been hoping for for a long time now.

For the last few builds my TV switches to 3D mode no matter what film I play. It seems to be related to the switching resolution setting, as if I tell it to stay at 60Hz instead of switching to 24hz the problem goes away. It's not a deal breaker though, I just switch it back to 2D mode if it's a 2D movie.
The bigger issue I had was kodi totally crashing when I brought up the OSD after a few minutes of watching a film, but looking at the debug logs I noticed it was the weather info causing it. I removed my weather provider and the problem has gone away.
Other than those 2 issues it seems to be fairly stable. Certainly usable.

I also have this same issue with an MVC rip of Star Trek - Into Darkness which is also a True HD soundtrack. This latest version does seem to reduce the issue, but the version before had to be watched from beginning to end or not at all.
I'll produce a log if it'll help?
