Support on Beaglebone black (Rev A) available?
#1
Hi,

I have an old version of the Beaglebone Black Rev A, this is running on Debian (lxde dekstop).

Is Kodi supported on this type of board and OS ?

When I installed kodi on it, I got an error, Kodi requires 24 bit color depth, it seems the bone has 16bit max color depth only. Is it possible to force kodi to run on 16 bit color instead of 24 Bit color.

thanks

No - AIUI the TI Sitara (?) chip used doesn't have much in the way of hardware video acceleration - nor does it support 1080/50p or 1080/60p video output. It's a very basic HDMI GPU output system - not at all suited to Kodi.

thanks for the info.

But I think it should be possible to simply run VLC or any other media player and watch films on a flat screen HD TV.

Thanks
