OS X Ext HDD connected to Mac on LAN - How do I add this as a source for my Kodi box
#1
I'm running Kodi on a Fire TV stick and have an external HDD with all my media connected to a Mac on my LAN, how can I connect Kodi/Fire TV stick to the ext HDD plugged into my Mac? (Mac OS X Yosemite)

What network protocol should I select? I tried SMB but I got the error "Broken pipe"

For the "Server name" should I enter the IP address such as "192.168.0.107" or "computername._smb._tcp.local"?

I wasn't sure what exactly to enter under "Shared folder", so I tried leaving that blank, I also tried entering the volume name. I have the entire volume (external HDD) shared in the system preferences on the Mac.
