Solved Crash when moving Kodi to another screen
#1
Kodi 16.1 Jarvis

Windows 10 Home
Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586

Processor Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz, 2301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

NVidia GT630m 2gb

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB

I am running an Asus n56vm laptop with 2 additional monitors connected. When starting Kodi, it open on the laptop screen. I try to move it to one of the other monitors (bigger) and it crashes. Kodi version 15 I had no problem with doing this. I will include a link for the Kodi debug log and I will post a log from the event viewer from my pc. Thanks for the help.

Thank you for your efforts.
When you say:
Quote: I try to move it to one of the other monitors (bigger) and it crashes.
Could you explain the process please?

I watch Kodi in window mode. When I open and run kodi , it loads in window mode on my laptop. (15 inch monitor). Since I have 2 additional monitors (both 23 inches) connected to my laptop, one with HDMI and another with the VGA i think is the plug. Whne I try to move the kodi window from laptop screen to one of my other monitors, it crashes and needs to be closed.

You stated that it worked on 15.1 which did not require Directx11.
Do you know if your laptop supports DX11.
What do you get when you do this ? winkey+R / dxdiag (enter)
(version? - under display pane, are any problems listed?)

I am unsure about that but I ran the dxdiag and here is the log on it.

Go to www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers. When installing, go the custom route and tick the box to do a clean install, removing the old driver files and settings.

I'm happy to say that doing a clean reinstall of the Nvidia driver did it. Thanks for your help BatterPudiing and OTinley.
