Should I add remote folders to the library ?
#1
Hi guys, a little "workflow" question here :

I have an HTPC with OpenELEC on it.
I added to it some music / videos folders shared from my macbook through SMB.

My question is : should I add those folders to the HTPC Kodi library ?
I mean, since my macbook will not be always accessible, is it a good "workflow" to add those folders to the library ?

Thanks !

Well you should put your media somewhere where it IS always available.

In fact, I have an internal HDD inside my HTPC where I store most of my medias.
But I have some extras on my macbook.

So your answer is no ?

How will KODI behave when remote medias have been added to the library, but are not accessible anymore ?

Thanks

It shouldn't cause a problem as long as you don't hit 'clean library' when they're unavailable.
