Media revolution iptv 18 box help
#1
Hello,
I tried to update my box but it didn't go too well haha, I used the wrong firmware and I bricked it I think, I have emailed the company and no emails back, on the back of the box it says: IPTV 18 smart tv box revision 2.2
It had xbmc on it an old version of Android, can anyone help meget it back up and running?

a simple google search shows that box is like a matricom gbox. i think you can you amlogic usb tool for windows to reflash something onto it.

No clue on anything more than that.. use Google, its your friend.

iptv 18 rev2.2 is same as gbox midnight mx2 clone or the g18ref if your searching around.

freaktab forum will have many tuturials on how to recover those devices.

personally i think the best KODI experience on that device will be Openelec

so if it was me i would flash the OE 6.01 release from Codesnake for the MX2 located here https://github.com/codesnake/OpenELEC.tv/releases

i have no experience with those devices first hand, it could be a good idea to open the device and confirm what exactly you have first.

No worries, good luck, and imo i would take the board out and confirm what you have 100% visually before going further.

usb A to A cable for amlogic burn tool.

This is the only way i've recovered newer amlogic devices, but i have never had one like yours, best do some reading before doing anything. to me it looks like you might be able to recover it via some fancy SD card method.

looks like it is a g18 ref board.. should be good with a MX2 firmware.

i see many posts on freaktab about how to unbrick them.

first link is worth a read. as always do all this at your own risk as i have no experience with this device.
