v16 Check Log - Whate log and where
#1
I have Kodi 16.1 running on a Raspberry Pi, generally no problems but I have an older digital tuner recorder that I can transfer files using the built in web server.

I have created an .strm file to accress these, normally works fine but occasionally after editing the strm file I get an error from Kodi saying - 'playback failed, one or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message'.

Which log file shoulod I check and where is it? Can't find anything relevant in /var/log/

It means Kodi's own log. This is in ~/.kodi/temp

Really can't get any inspiration from log; this message repeated a number of times;

19:13:02 79667.265625 T:2925343728 ERROR: CecLogMessage - Open - vc_cec could not be initialised
19:13:02 79667.265625 T:2925343728 ERROR: CecLogMessage - could not open a connection (try 2)
19:13:03 79668.273438 T:2925343728 ERROR: CecLogMessage - RegisterLogicalAddress - vc_cec_set_logical_address(E) returned invalid arg (8)

Post the link to the log. The whole log will tell a story. 3 lines might not tell you what failed properly.
