I notice some of the skins I used to use are now banned, but they all seem to do the same thing, just with a different look and some different content and features. So what makes a skin illegal or a violation to be banned?

Is there a most popular skin? If so why? What is Lateralus? Is that a skin?

Is there a most efficient way of adding a skin to Kodi? Someone showed me a RESTORE method.

No, it's not a skin. It's one of those so-called 'wizards' that install all sorts of banned add-ons (wiki) all in the name of Kodi. Which is why we don't like such things around here !!

Perhaps you should do some reading in the wiki. You could do worse than start with forum rules (wiki) progress from there.

All a skin does is change the way the Kodi interface is presented graphically. While some skins do install add-ons, these are to provide information to the skin or otherwise enhance the user's experience. They do not install dubious add-ons that provide content to Kodi via illegal methods of streaming.
