new router / unpn
#1
Hi,

I just got a dual band router because my bluetooth headphones interfere with my internet. I have Kodi on my PC and have my video library shared. I use upnp to watch my libraries on other devices such as my FireStick, Fire TV and android tablet. With the modem/router provided by ATT, I can do this and detect my instance of Kodi on my PC from my other devices.

I got the new router because of the dual band feature--I wanted a router that can do 5ghz so it won't interfere with my bluetooth and affect the streaming like it does on my tablet now.

But for some reason when I set up Kodi on my PC to share my library, kodi on my tablet doesn't detect my kodi on my PC with unpn available.on Linksys' 'smart wi-fi' menus, it does detect my PC connected by ethernet as well as my tablet connected over 5ghz wifi and sayas they're all detected, yet my Kodi library on my PC isn't detected by my kodi on the tablet.

I also have unpn enabled on my linksys router using the 'smart wi-fi' settings but still have this problem.

I have tried connecting my PC to the router wirelessly but that doesn't fix the issue either.

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Mike

Each invocation of Kodi will have it's on internal library and it's not shared. So you can access the files on your PC with your tablet through your router using wifi, or of course the same files locally on your PC.
