Hi,

Looking to buy a SSD for an NUC but a bit confused regarding from factors; it does need an m-sata but I can't work out from the Amazon description whether this fits both 2.5 and m-sata: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Z400s-S...ords=z400s

Confirmation would be helpful from those with experience. Cheers

That picture is of a 2.5" SATA model, with SATA data and power connectors. The M.2 and mSATA form factors and interface connectors are very different, though confusingly they can all work with SATA data - over different connectors.

Quick google suggests the Z400S was available in multiple form factors (i.e. there were different versions of each drive made - SATA, mSATA and two lengths of M.2), I suspect the Amazon one is the 2.5" SATA form factor. That will be fine for a NUC with a 2.5" drive slot, but won't be a good fit if you want to mount it on-board.

https://www.sandisk.co.uk/content/dam/sa...m-v1_3.pdf Shows you the multiple form factors each model was available in, and the different SKUs.

The SKU on the Amazon advert is SD8SBAT-128G-1122 - with the BAT suggesting 2.5" SATA form factor.

Thanks for that. Yeah, I came across that Sandisk spec sheet but the SKU for both SATA and M-SATA is the same: SD8SBAT-128G, which lead me to believe that you may be able to remove the case to fit it. Speculation on my part admittedly.

The PDF I linked to has different SKUs for the 2.5" SATA (BAT) and M-SATA (FAT).
