I am posting this here instead of in PVR section because behaviour even occurs on recorded TV shows. I am running ubuntu 14.04, kodi nightly builds (5/10/16), and the mythtv pvr. For both live TV and recorded TV the closed captions are intermittent. Sometimes I can display them and sometimes I cannot for the same file of the recorded program. The captions are present in the recorded files. I can play the file with VLC and see the captions. No error log is generated. The closed caption parsing is enabled in Setting/Player/Language.
