Add stream as Channel?
#1
Hi guys,

I am new to Kodi, and have found out that I can add my own Live Channels using the "PVR IPTV Simple Client" and creating links in an m3u file. I am simply trying to create my own channels from live stream URL links.

This works, except certain URL's I place in there do not work?

I confirm the URL works with VLC, but doesn't work when I put it into the m3u file in Kodi.

The Stream I am trying to get to work in Kodi is below:
http://220.132.204.119:9981/stream/chann...023A3309BC

Can someone please let me know how I can get that stream to play in Kodi? Is there another Add-on I can use that might get it to work?

Also any live streams from Youtube also don't work.

Please help.

Create a file named stream.strm which includes:
[url]http://220.132.204.119:9981/stream/channelid/6?ticket=3CD8AD9C538C0BE69858D0EFE3AA06023A3309BC[/curl]

Playing that file will play the stream (works for me).

You should also be able to create an m3u files for iptv simple.

Hi "popcornmix", thanks for your help.

I must be doing something wrong as its not working for me.

I cannot even see that strm file when I browse for it.

Here is what I have done.

Created a file "tw.strm" (I can confirm it is definitely .strm format as I checked in file properties)

Inside that file there is only 1 line of code:
[url]http://220.132.204.119:9981/stream/channelid/6?ticket=3CD8AD9C538C0BE69858D0EFE3AA06023A3309BC[/curl]

I have saved the file into my folder /home/osmc/Custom folder.

Resarted Kodi, and went to browse for that file in Kodi via Videos > Files > Add videos and choose Browse to that folder but I cannot see any file listed there.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Figured it out, I had to add the path to the folder first. Then after that then go to the folder I added and then I can see the files.
