Sad
Hi folks,

i am using Kodi on nvidia Shield. received it today and installed the latest updates and kodi via play store.
it seems that i can play 4k videos but pictures only have a 1080p like quality.
if i use android everything is fine.

from the kodi settings menu it does not seem possible to change UI resolution.

what do i have to do?
any help is very much appreciated.

Use SPMC (wiki) for 4K in the GUI.

I already tried but the option to set UI resolution to 4k is not available. Even after switching to expert mode.
limiter is already set to "unlimited".

However even if the GUI is in 4k it does not make much sense to me. Why can the image not be displayed in native resolution like video can do now?

I think its cause the video is decoded on a hardware accelerated player/ renderer where viewing pictures is a GUI thingy. Just a thought.
Kodi 15.2 @ Android TV (Nvidia Shield)
PVR Backend: DVBLink/ DVBLogic with DigitalDevices 2xDVB-S & 2xDVB-C,CI DeltaCamTwin @ UM02 & HD02

So I guess that begs the question, is there any plan for 4k image playback?
