Hello,
I would like to clarify and resubmit an idea that was posted a while back. I think that it was misunderstood and, if done properly, it can be a great addition to XBMC and a step towards future integration with home automation components.
The Post can be found here:

However there are a few things that need clarifying. The xbox would not act as a hub that would require wiring and serial ports to control lights/heating & AC/security The xbox would simply act as a terminal through the network. The Pluto Home Automation system is built around a central server that is programmed and wired to handle all those devices. The xbox would serve as a media director, mainly used for streaming media to a TV or to speakers.
If you still dont quite grasp the usefulness of this system you can check out the flash presentation here:

Anyways I would like some feedback about this. Pluto has completely open source code so if the netboot option will not work, an option could be trying to add modules into XBMC to work with system! Yay for high tech stuff
