A number of my users are experiencing issues installing from my repo, issue came out of the blue and after no major changes to the addon.xml...

Log error is:

ERROR: CAddonInstallJob[script.pseudotv.live]: could not read addon description of special://home/addons/script.pseudotv.live

Log is good for 1week, any help would be appreciated.

BTW i've tried making multiple changes to the addon.xml, wiped my repo and regenerated addons.xml and md5. I also deleted Kodi's addonsxx.db and package folder, nothing seems to resolve the issues.

according to the log, they're not installing through your repo, but are installing from zip:

15:45:56 T:15956 DEBUG: CAddonInstaller: installing from zip 'D:\script.pseudotv.live.zip'

and it's not a zipfile you're hosting in your repo either i think, since the filename doesn't include a version number?

without a link to the actual zipfile used in this log, it's hard to tell why it fails to install.

Hey ronie, thanks for the info... yes that log was my last attempt to manually install a zip... which also failed.

i can't provide much more help, it installs fine on my end.

looking at the kodi source-code, the error message means it either failed to extract the zipfile or can't read the addon description.

Okay, thank you... I also had no issues installing at first... then after a number of times deleting my addonsxx.db and package folder I was finally able to reproduce the same error a number of users are reporting.

I am also experiencing this issue trying to install PTVL on Jarvis. This thread was the only search result outside of pastebin's for that error that I was able to find. Is there an official thread that I can follow for this issue?
