Physical button for 'Next track'
#1
Hi,

How would I go about configuring a physical switch (SPST momentary) with the GPIO pins to add a 'next track' feature to the Pi ?

Basically we're looking to use one as a headless mp3 player. Instead of having a remote control via IR GPIO, I figured a physical button would do the trick.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Nod

See the discussion in this thread for how I've implemented GPIO buttons on my Pi zero. You'd need to tweak the script a little to give your required actions but it should be possible.

My Pi has 6 physical buttons as well as an IR receiver. Works fine - indeed is doing so as I type. There's a link to the script add-on I put together in that thread and you'll also need to install the RPI.GPIO add-on as well
