So, is this thing a true endorsed ATV box by google like the Nvidia Shield, or similar to the Xtreamer Whizz?

Xiaomi is not to short though.
BTW. the Xtremer Whizz is NOT a licensed Android TV device like the Xiaomi Mi Box will be.
Its a backyard hack that any switched on Android developer can do, with a bunch a Leanback features that will not work properly like HD DRM video streaming to name just one. Xtremer's marketing is nothing better than a con job masquerading as an officially licensed Android TV device.

And you should also keep in mind that just because as box is a "Google certified" Android TV device it doesn't mean anything if it is still missing other features. Think the Razer Forge TV and it's lack of Netflix.
