Broken XinBox (E-Mail Client for XBMC)
#61
Neoman Wrote:Hallo,

how to update? the xinbox script stops after the error message :-(

The older Version didn't has a update function.

Thanks

Neoman

If i were you. I'd use the file explorer to delete the entire Xinbox script folder. Download and install it from xbmc with the xbmcsripts script. Then hopefully that will run and you can update it from within itself.

Hi, appears you are missing one of the files that comes with the script.
Please re-download the script from my link on the first page and try again.

Hallo,

thanks for Your help.

I already deleted the whole directory and installed it using
installer.
No change :-(
So i began to learn python :-)
The missed File "Xinbox_MainMenu.py" is definitively in q:\\xinbox\\src\lib\\ directory.

I added in default.py the follow line directly under
sys.path.append( os.path.join( sys.path[0], 'src', 'lib' ) )

print sys.path

and see in debug ouput the q:\\xinbox\\src\lib\\directory.

Why doesn't find the system the MainMenu ?

Thanks

Hallo,

IT WORKS !!!

Thanks a lot.

I deleted the whole directory using XBMC integreted File Manger.
XBMC Installer installed the Version 0.9 of the Xinbox.
Using in Xinbox integrated Update function, now is the Version 0.99 running on my Xbox.

Repeatly thanks for Your help

Try deleting your xbmc/userdata/script_data/XinBox folder and start fresh.
Then update to the latest build via the script (click update)

Hope this helps.

(more updates to come soon, been busy re-uniting myself with BF2 :-D)

Okay, after deleting the userdata folder it works fine for a few times then I delete all the e-mails in my inbox and again I get the building inbox crash. :confused2:

Hi, after two days I also have Problems.

The Xinbox startet with the message:

Please Wait
Shutting down Mini-Mode

and nothing happens more :-(

Cheers

Hi,

I am aware of the mini-mode issue.
To fix, delete the one or two files that are in the X: dir.
And don't use minimode to the next release which it should be fixed in.

Hallo Stanley,

which Files do You means ?
Files in Userdata directory ?

Some queststions:
----------------
My Xinbox Structure looks like this:

- Account: emails
- Inboxes: Web.de, Gmx.de

* Is there a way to check all Inboxes at once ?
Now I check the Inboxes separately. It's not very practically (for me).

* Problems using web.de Account
The access to pop3 Web.de is very tricky. There is a timelimit for 15 minutes.
This mean, you only can get emails every 15 Minutes.
After I get emails and select an email to delete (inbox+server), Xinbox delete this email
from Xinbox inside, but the eMail stays on server. No Error Message appears.
Do You check the Errorinfo from Server while or after deleting the eMail ?

Future request:
--------------
1. Check all emails of an account at once
2. Access to Contacts in Dialog Create Email
3. Multiselecting and deleting of eMails in the Listdialog of the inbox
-> select eMail 1,3,7,9
-> delete eMails
-> Dialog: Do You want to delete 4 eMails ?
-> OK: delete eMails from Server

Thanks

Hi neoman,

no the script stores two files on the xbox harddrive X: dir. Eg, u have a C: E: etc.

Good feature sugestions but feature 2 is already available.
Press the white button on the remote while any of the To: CC: Bcc: fields are highlighted in the compose dialog.
The white button actually does quite a few different things in the script, and the Y button (help) will tell you what it does.

Cheers,
Stanley87

Oh, and you can quick delete emails from the inbox by pressing the B button when a email is highlighted in the inbox email list.

Hallo,

i spent some time to finde the drive X: :-)))
After Deleting the .xib File anything works again.

I'm using the DVD Remote. Do you keep in mind, some people
are using this way to remote the Xinbox ?

Thanks for this great script.

I haven't had a time to look thru the files in the script folder yet, but its there a way to map some of those controls to the remote?

XinBox has been mapped to remote for you.

Here is a link to the XinBox simple button map:

Hope, this helps.

Great. Thanks a ton. I just wish Gmail's pop server worked like a normal pop server.
