Controlling Lights During Playback
#1
I have a Logitech Elite, I have some zwave light swtiches installed in my HT Room. What I would like to happen is when the movie is played or when I turn on a activity the lights automatically turn off. Or when the movie or show is paused the lights dim up to a certain percent. Everything is setup through smartthings. What is best way to go about this?

I recently did just that with a slightly different component setup. When Play, lights turn off. Pause or Stop bring up lights to 30% or so.

I'm using the Logitech Harmony 700 remote which supports Sequences. This is where you would program a desired sequence of events.
I also got a Flirc dongle for my media PC. This little device allows you to map any button on the remote to a particular keyboard stroke. Since Kodi navigation is mainly based on keyboard shortcuts, this was a perfect tool to make my Harmony remote act like a keyboard.

The light switch I have is a Lutron Maestro IR Dimmer (which only supports Incandescent or Halogen lights). Unfortunately no CFL or LED.
Since the light switch is located behind the couch, I also had to get http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-IR-R...B009ZGK6QS
That repeater is a lot more sensitive than the IR on the light switch, so I no longer need to point the remote backwards to make things work.
If you need more details, let me know.
