v17 "Adjust display refresh rate" not working
#16
If you're watching 24p content on a 144Hz monitor you wouldn't need refresh rate syncing, since 144/24 results in an even 6.

I was waiting this f*****g answer since the begining...

That's why I give test results for 25 fps and 30 fps content demonstrating it does not work

What will be the point to switch off G-Sync as the screen will just stay on 144 no matter what file I play?
Are you saying that a G-Sync monitors stops you from using custom resolutions with specific refresh rates?
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

Nope!
I just say that if my screen is set to 144Hz with G-Sync off, there is no way that Kodi can adjust the refresh rate
And I see no point of setting my screen refresh rate manualy each time I want to watch something

Just forget about this issue

It seems that dev do not care and forum members have no clue

Can a moderator close this thread please?

Maybe pictures could be better
(I had to take pictures with my phone because the fps counter is in the screen so a screenshot could not show it)

Same 2 video files and same kodi settings
(just have a look at the fps counter)

With krypton nightly KodiSetup-20160401-0436322-master:

With latest krypton test build KodiSetup-20160613-9e4232e-master:

25fps movie at 100fps display and 23.976 at 143.945. what's wrong? As I can see in your debug log your display doesn't support 23.978 and 25 fps. I'm sure that on 20160401 build you were see not a real display fps it's just frequency of GUI refresh but display is still at 100/143.945 fps. There is a difference between 20160401 build and the latest build in that now Kodi renders video as fast as possible for each vsync.

The only thing you can see in the debug log are the differents max refresh rate settings in windows

This screen can be set to 60Hz, 85Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz BUT it has nothing to do with refresh rates that can be handled by the G-sync module

The panel itself can handle refresh rates between 30Hz and 144Hz (200Hz with OC) but If you send an 24fps signal to the screen, G-Sync will just double it to display 48Hz

I also see that if I set my screen to 60Hz, Kodi will continue to choose 144fps

I wonder what Kodi would choose If I OC the panel to 200Hz instead of 144Hz...

This was just a little bit more information.
Sorry if I had disturb you with my useless questions

Kodi knows nothing about your display, Kodi knows nothing about G-Sync, Kodi uses screen modes which are reported by the system only. If system doesn't report about supported 30Hz/24Hz and so on screen modes Kodi will not use them at all.

In your log I see that Kodi switches display to [email protected] mode.
