There are more than one spec/format for CC for Live TV, you'll probably need to be more specific.

For recorded tv you can use the free program ccextractor to extract cc into srt files for your recorded shows. You can search this subforum for ccextractor to get instructions on how to use it. For live-tv we don't currently have a solution, but its on the todo list.

As far as I know, Kodi supports the closed captions in the ts stream, so now we have to extract them and put them in the .ts. Is there anyway I can help? I would really like to have this implemented as it is a must for me. I can help test on different clients.

Actually it is Kodi's support for cc in ts files that I am not sure of. If you can collect some ts files that contain subtitle data that Kodi works with, that would be a big help.

Yes, of course! I'll report back once I found a ts file that works in Kodi.

This is interesting.... I enabled parse cc in the video settings in Kodi, and the closed captions are showing up now for live tv.

Wow! Server WMC is the closest PVR to a cable box DVR, now! Is there anyway to process comskip as soon as a recording starts?
