I just updated to version 2.8 from 2.7.4 and the renamer now does not work for my Movie Sets.

I use the rename strings:

folder: {- Sets\$M\}$Y\$T{ - $U}
File: $T{ - $U} ($Y) $V $A

TMM creates the directory but then gives error message "unable to rename file"

I tried version 2.8.1 but still the same result.

Also feature request - in the TV Shows area, being able to have a folder.<ext> option, just like movies would be great.
