i tried to add a rss 2.0 stream, though this completely locked the xbmc interface at startup...

filesize of the xml is only about 12k, so that should be no problem at all...

i guess the parser isn't able to parse rss 2.0 streams?

Information
couldn't there be a check, if the rss is 2.0, and then do something other than freezing?

butcher(or runtime), correct me if i am wrong, but i don't think the rss code is specific to version of rss.

i've seen the hang as well, and i thought maybe it had to do with rss feeds that don't have an extension on the filename, such as: http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/sports

i can't test right now, but would be neat to try and save that rss feed locally and rename to .xml or .rss and then stream it locally from your pc: http://192.168.0.1/sports.xml (assuming you have a webserver).

i would try and test that, but can't at this moment.

i might have time to try that this weekend...

what i did find was a 0.91 rss feed, which only showed it's title, and none of the headlines... is there any documentation on the rss parser?
