When trying to exit through the menu (full screen) Kodi will lock up and requires terminating through Task Manager, doing the same in windowed mode works perfectly fine.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this was also the case with nightlies leading up to the Alpha release.

Disabling Version Check seems to fix the freezing when exiting at full screen.

Fix found from this thread.

Happy to try another nightly if required or post another debug log.

Edit: Scrap that, it worked once and that's it.

I have a similar issue, except I cannot invoke Task Manager to close Kodi. Choosing to exit from Kodi causes a lock-up and Ctrl+Alt+Delete will not invoke Task Manager. A cold boot of the PC is required.

The issue is repeatable, locking up every time a normal exit from Kodi is attempted. The log file is from a session where Kodi is started, left idle for several seconds, then attempted to close. The same behavior occurs no matter what happens within a normal usage session of Kodi or of what length of time has passed.

Can you exit if you are not in full screen mode?

Edit: You also get the same fatal errors as I do.

Edit_2: The latest nightly looks to work, going to confirm after a PC shutdown and adding media.

Thanks for asking about using "Full Screen Window," as when I selected that (I always turn it off and use true full screen), the screen went black, the PC locked up and could not invoke Task Manager with ctrl+alt+del, just like when attempting to exit:

In this instance, it appears Kodi is still running, as my attempts to bring up Task Manager appear in the log file.

I am running KodiSetup-20160829-32fb8c5-master, which is listed as today's nightly.

I see that Nvidia released new drivers today, so I will install those and see if that makes a difference.

Tried the same nightly as you and the issue persists but only in full screen for me, windowed functions normal.

Same here: I deleted guisettings.xml so Kodi would use windowed mode by default and exit functions normally. Since smooth playback is hit-or-miss (for me) in windowed mode, I'll continue to use full screen mode and just exit via Task Manager until the issue is corrected.

Unfortunately I can't find any nightlies/builds between Jarvis Release (24 Apr) and Krypton Alpha 2 (30 Jun) to pin point when the issue occurred.

Surely we can't be the only two having this issue?

I reported too soon. After several hours of using KodiSetup-20160902-cad875f-master, it has reverted to locking up again upon exit. I tried reinstalling, but that didn't help. I'll try the latest nightly and continue testing.
