Hi
I got my hands some older HP thin clients that so far seems to handle KODI very well. I wanted to put OpenELEC on them, but I can't find linux drivers for the GPU. So I went with Windows 7 Embedded which is what these thin clients came with.
I now want to set one up for my Grandparents to use and give them a remote, but I need something simple and basic. A remote with a mini keyboard will not work for them and they will just press buttons they shouldn't.
Examples of what I needt:
1. http://www.takealot.com/t2-wireless-air-...ID41346277
2. http://www.takealot.com/rii-x2-2-4ghz-wi...ID29983193 (It says mini-keyboard, but it's not)
The T2 seems like the obvious choice, but I found this thread:
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=158295
On page 2 a guy listed what some of the buttons do, but it doesn't look like it can work 100% even after doing some remapping of keys. I also don't need the air mouse feature. Again, this is for my grandparents... it needs to be rock solid and not do any unexpected things
So after much googling I come to ask for the wisdom of those with way more experience with such things than I have. In fact, I've never used a remote for anything like this in my life. As such I'm unsure of what I can or can't do with some of these remotes which is making it really difficult to know if I'm looking at a good remote or not.
I just need a remote that can navigate the menu's with buttons, not air mouse, and it should not have a million billion buttons. The T2 and Rii X2 seems to have the right amount of buttons, but with my lack of experience I'm not sure if they can be mapped for my Grandparents needs.
Hope someone can help.
Regards
