According to a chart provided in the report, the 8TB drives are highly reliable. The HGST HDS5C8080ALE600 worked for 22,858 days and only saw two failures. Update on this old thread Hard Drive Stats for Q2 2017 with 83,151 drives, Toshiba is looking good.

Looking at the drive days and number of drives columns, the Toshibas have very low numbers. The drive days numbers are below those BackBlaze suggest are useful ?

Guess that's why I provided the link, for the reader to judge for themselves. Looking good is not a pronouncement of 'good', but more of a personal journey I've experienced with my set-up. Next years statistics might show more and for a lot of us, this information is invaluable.
