4k and 3D yes using Windows and i think 1080p HEVC but not sure if it can do upto 10 bit 1080p HEVC or just 8bit and if it does well. Those details would be last thing to confirm because HD audio is not an issue (update: apparently there are software issues but hardware is very capable) and you're all set for a future proof box IMO. Though i would read reviews carefully because sometime ago i read about hardware issues on Intel NUC units, also check if people mention temperatures, i would avoid boxes that get hot to touch.
I would also look at alternative brands like Gigabyte, they haven't advertised their 6th Gen units that well but they seem a great if not better alternative to Intel NUC's.
I think some people will recommend you to wait until 7th Gen Kaby Lake release
