Installing Kodibuntu 32 bit RC14.0 today (2016) Bad Idea?
#1
I am trying to install Kodibuntu 32bit on an old Netbook Samsung N-120 because the 64bit version does not install.

I have the Kodibuntu 32bit RC14.0 running ok on the Netbook but was now attempting to upgrade it as suggested here http://kodi.wiki/view/kodibuntu#How_to_upgrade_Kodi

So this RC14.0 is pretty old (Build 2014) So is this a stupid idea in 2016?

Is it possible to upgrade this to the latest Kodi?

The Samsung N-120 will not run 64bit OS. Is this going to work?

Should I just buy a Raspberry Pi 3 instead and run it on that?

I have run apt-get a few times and it doesn't seem to update the Kodi from RC14.0 to 14.2 stable. Much less update to Kodi 15 or Kodi 16.0

I was using the Synaptics Package Manager and it seems I accidentally upgraded to Kodi 17.0 Alpha? wtf?

How do I roll back to one of the stable releases? is it possible?

I was then having the same problem as specified here with 17.0 Monitor totally wigs out.

Should I do the suggested:
Quote:To fix it I:
1. reinstalled (WITHOUT downloading updates during install)
2. Booted into Kodi and pressed Ctrl-Alt-F2 for get to a console and logged in
3. ran: sudo apt-get update; sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:team-xbmc/unstable; sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade; sudo reboot

the guy on Reddit says the problem is that:
Quote:the 32 bit kodibuntu image has the unstable PPA repository loaded by default.
