I have the same problem (posted in another message, but never any replies). Any suggestions? Kodi completely locks my box up when I try to shut down, so I can't access the debug log (even if it would mean anything to me, which it likely wouldn't)

The log (wiki) file still exists even after a reboot, Log file/Easy (wiki) turning on the debug log will help more and as noted you can turn on debugging in the advanced settings file. But I suspect key here is add-ons that have made a URL request and the link is either bad or changed leaving the add-on hanging, closing becomes problematic and the debug will tell you which one. You could just disable the suspects and see if you have normal operation with a clean shut-down, then one by one re-enable and see which is the culprit.
