(2017-02-24, 18:01)CiNcH Wrote: How do you get DTS out of it?

Speaker Output to 5.1
Disable Sync to Playback
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver
Enable DTS Capable receiver

And that should do the trick...
DTS does not work for me, see here.
and I can confirm this. Nothing plays, just black screen.
And me. Black screen
After update to Android TV 6.0 on my SONY TV X8509C and Kodi 17.0 HDMI ARC from TV do AVR and I can't play any movie with DTS with Passthrough enabled?

Is it possible that you can not play the movie DTS or DTS-HD passthrough feature on Sony TV with Kodi 17 Huh
Ie that all SONY TV's can not play movies with DTS and Passthrough Huh
Seriously Huh?

And you are using Current shitty version: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk ?
Of course not. I want the RAW API to work. PCM hack working is no news...
@ kinggo
not - SONY video or not Kodi and any other player ??

I checked today to play for SONY Video player. Movies with DTS-HD also does not play as HD Audio. Only DTS Matrix - 6.1 Sad
I checked a variety of videos.

If I play the same movie with DTS-HD on Blu Ray player everything is OK

I am writing today to the Sony support.
They won't be able to help you - as they simply cannot bypass the limitations for their ARC ...
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
Sad
Your are right Sad
it's limitation of HDMI ARC
https://www.avforums.com/threads/solved-...r.1716602/

thank You !
for info:

"In the new HDMI 2.1 version, the benefit of a shield twisted pair for Ethernet is built into the spec. to eliminate interference. In addition, the ARC can be enhanced; Instead of passing approximately 1 Mbps (it was intended to be 384 Kbps but that can be stretched to 1 Mbps) it now can deliver a 38 Mbps ARC (8 channels, 192 kHz, 24 bits). That covers everything requiring a high bit rate now including – uncompressed Dolby True HD, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, DTS HD Master Audio and so on."

well, I meant DTS. The rest was obvious that won't work on ANY TV.
the last question:
HDMI ARC limitation also applies for DTS-HD Passthrough ??
Sure. It is lossless. Too much data to transport via ARC.

Does not work for me. I am also on the new sony android version.
With the above settings and passthrough activated the playback does not work at all - the screen stays black.

Did sony fuck up? Or should I stay away from Kodi 17?
