And me. Black screen
After update to Android TV 6.0 on my SONY TV X8509C and Kodi 17.0 HDMI ARC from TV do AVR and I can't play any movie with DTS with Passthrough enabled?
Is it possible that you can not play the movie DTS or DTS-HD passthrough feature on Sony TV with Kodi 17
Ie that all SONY TV's can not play movies with DTS and Passthrough
Seriously ?

@ kinggo
not - SONY video or not Kodi and any other player ??
I checked today to play for SONY Video player. Movies with DTS-HD also does not play as HD Audio. Only DTS Matrix - 6.1
I checked a variety of videos.
If I play the same movie with DTS-HD on Blu Ray player everything is OK
I am writing today to the Sony support.

They won't be able to help you - as they simply cannot bypass the limitations for their ARC ...

for info:
"In the new HDMI 2.1 version, the benefit of a shield twisted pair for Ethernet is built into the spec. to eliminate interference. In addition, the ARC can be enhanced; Instead of passing approximately 1 Mbps (it was intended to be 384 Kbps but that can be stretched to 1 Mbps) it now can deliver a 38 Mbps ARC (8 channels, 192 kHz, 24 bits). That covers everything requiring a high bit rate now including – uncompressed Dolby True HD, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, DTS HD Master Audio and so on."

Speaker Output to 5.1
Disable Sync to Playback
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver
Enable DTS Capable receiver
And that should do the trick...
Does not work for me. I am also on the new sony android version.
With the above settings and passthrough activated the playback does not work at all - the screen stays black.
Did sony fuck up? Or should I stay away from Kodi 17?
