Hi,
I'm about to buy a new AVR, Pioneer Vsx-424. It supports HDMI Passtrough and CEC, ARC. Now I control my Pi2 running Libreelec with my Samsung plasma TV's remote with CEC, everything works fine.
I think CEC should work fine with the new Pio AVR, but can I do the following:
- I use Pi2 to play music as well, then obviously I don't need TV turned on. I think it is not possible to turn on the AVR with the TV's remote if the TV is turned off. But if I use the AVR's remote to turn only AVR on to listen to music, then will it turn on the TV too?
Most of the time I don't need my AVR on, as I listen to tv speakers, I use the AVR only for surround movies and music (without TV turned on).
Will I benefit anything from changing my amp to HDMI version and try to use CEC if my use cases are the above listed ones? I don't want AVR turned on all the time, only when listening to music with tv turned off, and when I want to watch a surround movie.
Uff, I hope I was clear with my questions.
Thanks.
