Argus TV and (any version of) Kodi not working
#1
Hello,

From some other threads in this forum I understand that some people have the combination of Argus TV and kodi working.

I have installed Argus TV 2.3 and I configured it to my best knowledge. When I do a test recording of a channel, I get a normal .ts file which can be played in VLC.

I configured the Argus TV PVR client in Kodi 17beta3. I get EPG info in the channel list. But when I start a channel, it says Working ... for about a minute and then quits with an "Unknown error". I have uploaded a debug log file here: http://pastebin.com/Qbid7BWn

Unfortunately, the Argus TV forum is very quiet, so I am hoping to get more response here.

TIA,

Bart

Hi

The issue is almost always with user permissions

Please do the following:
1. Please ensure that the "Recordings" and "TimeShift" folder security permissions have the user "Everyone" with "Full Control"
2. Make sure that in the Remote tab of System Properties of your computer, you have "Allow remote connections" checked and "Allow connections only from..." unchecked
3. Have a user name and password to log into windows - and use the same user name and password in Kodi/ArgusTV connection settings - do not use the default "Guest"

It's a very simple set-up - works like a charm.

My config
W10 with Argus2.3 with multiple clients - nVidia Shield, FireTV, Rpi & Rpi2 and a Samsung S2 Tablet.

Best of luck...

Thank you, finally a response that makes useful suggestions!

I did all of them, and had indeed to add full control for Everyone on the Timeshift share. Also added a real username/password pair in the Argus PVR add-on.

Unfortunately, this did not help. What is more, while testing from my laptop and trying to tune a channel, the HTPC crashed and rebooted.

Before the crash, Kodi obviously could connect to Argus, because the list of available channels came up and for some of them EPG data was already present.

To me, it remains a mystery.

Thanks anyway!

I am now running the final release of Krypton, and for some reason the combination of ArgusTV and Kodi now works, sort of.

I still have problems, which are discussed here: http://www.argus-tv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=7025
