LibreElec Samba Issues
#1
I have the latest stable version of LibreElec installed (Jarvis) on an RPi3. I have two NTFS hard drives attached directly to a WD MyNet900 router and shared via Samba with no username/password. I can see my media and scan it into the library, but the artwork does not show up and I can't play anything. I tried adding these settings to samba.conf as recommended here: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread-1252.html, but it didn't fix my issue. Any ideas?

Debug log: http://pastebin.com/Kr6eAJf4

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Smile

samba.conf is for the LE Samba *server* and what you are experiencing is a Samba *client* issue, therefore changing samba.conf will have no effect on your issue.

First thing to do would be to check the artwork files are owned by the same user as the movies, and have the same file permissions as the movies.

Since you're using smb:// there are no options you can change on the client, so you should focus on the server, ie. your router, although I've no idea what options you have available on this router. It might be worth adding a user/password on the router, then configuring this user/password in LE (passwords.xml), just in case the Guest access is not working correctly on the router.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

In case anyone else has this issue, I wasn't able to change the file permissions when the drives were hooked up the router, so I've reversed my setup and attached the hard drives to the RPi and shared them over the network from there.

Thanks again.
