My employer provides partial donation matching when submitted via their donation management vendor (currently cybergrants.com). I don't know how they remit the donation (presumably they cut a check to the official address unless other arrangements are made).

In order to donate I need to identify the organization and the easiest way to verify I found the correct one is by Tax ID / EIN.

Based on IRS records there is no "XBMC Foundation" at this point. There is a "Kodi Foundation" based in Walnut, CA with EIN: 47-4565769. Does anyone know if this is the official non-profit representing the KODI project? And if I donate via cybergrants does anyone know how/if KODI will receive the donation?

Yup, Kodi Foundation is correct. Due to some screwed up paper work a few years ago, the IRS knows us as the Kodi Foundation. We updated the donate page with this info a while back, but since it otherwise doesn't affect our day to day work, I never made a big deal about it.
