I recently migrated from MythTV to TVHeadend. MythTV had the OSD pop up when I paused or started pressing the FF button to jump ahead. TVHeadend isn't doing that for me at the moment. It can make it hard to jump forward a specific amount of time for people who don't know that 3 mins is four clicks.

Is this just my setup with Kodi 17 being weird or is this the default behavior for the TVHeadend addon?

Don't know about TVH, I'm using MythTV. But I know that I had the same problem, and I think it was something with the skin. I'm using Estuary. But they fixed that.
So it could depend on which skin or version of skin you are using. Don't know which Estuary version I have. Using the latest LE builds for my Pi3.
