v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)

(2017-02-11, 13:49)bmonster Wrote: Morning Milhouse,

When I have a problem, i'll leave it a couple of day and see if it disappears on its own, if it doesn't I'll always check the problem still exists under a clean environment, basically rename the .kodi folder.
I've gone back and tried all builds from 0201 to 0210, and for me the only one that's not screwing with the memory is 0205, every other build is giving high memory usage with minutes of booting.

Sorry I'm not too technical, so not sure how to investigate further, I can help further with a little guidance.

Regards BM

Can you post your config.txt?

Also can you run "bcmstat.sh Zxd 10" in ssh after booting the latest build, as this should give a memory usage figure I can relate to. Leave it running and see if the memory usage figure increases to an abnormally high level.

My RPi3 with 320MB GPU split (booted last night about 9pm, so over 20 hours ago) currently shows:
Code:
Memory Free/Used
================
596,568 kB/15.2%

Once memory usage increases significantly, try running "top -o RES" which should list processes in descending order of memory usage.

Since this doesn't appear to be a new problem, and happens with a "clean" .kodi, I'd expect this to be far more widespread. I currently suspect this is something specific to your configuration, but not sure what that could be.

Hi Milhouse,

Its been running about 15mins on 0211, and its not gone much higher than 50%, better than 80%, but still seems high compared to your 15%.
I've added the requested info below, let me know if anything stands out to you.
If it starts rising again, i'll repost top -o RES

You were right. Reset to default seems solved the issue Big Grin. Connection activates with a delay of a few seconds, but it works anyway.
Thank you.

Just wanted to report back that it's working fine. Tested on RPi model B with Wolfson card and RPi2 with Cirrus Logic card. Thanks!

If it starts rising again, i'll repost top -o RES

Are you using more than the default cache memory? Can you post your kodi.log (as this will include your advancedsettings.xml).
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

You'll need to enable debug logging in system settings. Then reboot. Then grab the log.

OK, so no extra file caching.

Are you absolutely certain this happens with a clean ".kodi"? I see you're using a third-party skin, a PVR addon and quite a few other addons/scripts.

Can you paste the bcmstat.sh output as follows:
Code:
systemctl stop kodi
mv /storage/.kodi /storage/.kodi.bak
reboot
<wait for the system to restart>
bcmstat.sh -Zxd 10

Paste a link to the output of bcmstat.sh once 2-3 minutes worth of data has been collected.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Will do, I'm just getting a new sd card sorted and will do a proper clean/fresh install, and will get back to you.

And yer, i use estuary mod, which uses a ton of different scripts.
Milhouse does your recent builds include AudioDSP support? I can't find its settings in audio menu durging movie playback. I need to boost center channel in downmixed audio.

ADSP doesn't currently work.
But these builds include "Boost centre channel when downmixing" in system/audio settings.

Could there be any reason why the info button does not open the media info screen?

Also: If I try to install a new addon from a repo that does not exist anymore, there is no notification about that 404 error - kodi just says nothing.

Maybe you don't have the scraper add-on installed on the device that has been used to scrape the metadata?
