v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
I wonder whether some problems could have arised, because my installation was somehow a miracle. I installed LibreELEC when it didn't support my board. Usually the installer cant start at all. Then I tried out different custom builds because of hardware issues.

Now I wonder whether it could help if I start with a fresh LibreELEC alpha installation. Actually I don't need this cutting edge as I have currently. Or is it a desperate move because maybe all files are replaced or updated by an update?
(2018-11-24, 18:08)riccardo Wrote: Hi, here is a log file which shows my current issue with Dolby+ audio.
My config is NUC 6CAYH with audio passthrough enabled for all audio formats. Dolby+ audio plays only if I play the video containing this audio as a first video (after fresh boot). If I first play a video with other audio format and then try to play other one with Dolby+, the audio won't play. I have to reboot LE to get Dolby+ working again.
This also happens if I play Dolby+ first (log 16:15:53.494 - audio played OK), then other video with a different audio (log 16:18:15.912 - audio played OK) and then again the first video with Dolby+ (log 16:27:31.183 - audio did not play).
One more thing, when this happens, sometimes, but not every time, LE gets messed up and even Kodi GUI sounds stop working - this case is also in the log.
https://paste.kodi.tv/onagulojet.kodi
Just a quick add to this: I've been fiddling with it and I think it's a little bit different: Watching a video with DTS-HD causes other videos with non-hd formats (eg DTS, Dolby, Dolby+) not to work until next reboot (also Kodi GUI sounds stop working). Only DTS-HD(X) and DolbyTrueHD(Atmos) audio work until next restart. Few months back I read somewhere that in the display port to HDMI emulator, which these intel NUC boxes have, there's some sort of hw/sw switch (sorry for this silly descripion) that is used in audio passthrough processing. It seems to me that after a video with HD audio is played and stopped, Kodi somehow cannot reset this "switch" back to the state it was in when system started (default). So it can only play HD formats until reboot. Non HD formats work well after fresh boot until the HD audio si played. Again, excuse my silly guessing.

This is because some images don’t support e2distroversion. So this is optional from version 3.15.2 of the addon. You’ll get that once the PR is approved.

Is there any way to get hardware decoding from an old Lenovo Thinkcenter? It has an Intel q43/45 video chipset build in.

I've been testing it but am unable to get anything but software decoding.
No.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
OK thanks!
Intel discontinued the GM45 h264 driver long before it was really ready ... I would not invest any time in this system.

Roger, already swapped in a Nvidia 8400 and all is working perfectly, thanks again.

Second question:

I have a tp-link tl-wn822n v3.0 that is not recognized when I plug it in. Can't see networks or anything. Is this one supposed to be supported?

No, it's not supported. It looks like this device is based on the Realtek RTL8822BU chipset which is supported only by the Amlogic builds of LibreELEC (presumably some Amlogic device comes with this chipset built-in, or more likely it was added at a time when Amlogic development within LibreELEC became a bit of a nightmare and changes from that time are still being undone to this day).

In short, we're trying to get rid of out of tree Realtek support as it's a support nightmare, and we have no plans to add any additional drivers.

You can upload your latest zip file from the Logfiles Samba share and we can check the contents to be certain of the chipset (as the hardware used in these dongles tends to vary by region).

What's weird is I left it connected in it's non working state for about an hour and suddenly it's working... Not sure why or how but I am happy. I think this controller is the 8192, if that matters
Hallo,

I noticed a regression in the CEC Volume Controls.
Starting from Milhouse Build #1107 I no longer can control the volume of my AMP from withing kodi (+/- Keys on the keyboard)
Instead it just adjusts the internal kodi volume. Audio-Passthrough still works fine.
But while Audio-passthrouh is active (i.e. when playing a video), the volume keys do nothing but show the volume indicator, the indicator itself does not change in this case.

I am using the Pulse-Eight USB-CEC-Adapter (latest firmware v7 2016-04-13) on regular x86_x64 hardware.
here are some versions I tested until I found the breaking build with some debug-logs and libCEC enabled component specific logs.
