mirroring KODI to second screen
#1
Hi,

I am running Kodi on an intel NUC streaming content from NAS.

I would like to have my screen wirelessly mirrored to a secondary screen/televsion in the kitchen area. (since it's all in one room, only video streaming is ok, sound not necessary).

I have a chrome cast dongle and was thinking this could be helpful for this. (I found many tutorials about cast4kodi but they all seem to relate to streaming from a phone to a tv).

Anyone has an idea how I can mirror my xbmc on the NUC to a secondary HDMI screen/television using the chromecast or any other method?

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

doing this wirelessly will give you sub-standard video performance on the secondary screen (unwatchable during the test I did),

You can to try it yourself using the 'Cast Desktop' function within the Chrome browser.
Run Kodi, cast your desktop, make Kodi go fullscreen then play a file.

I'd highly recommend running a cable from a video card with dual outputs to do this properly. (I have used this method in my office for our company wallboards)
