edit: ignore me and the rest of this message, i now realise that all of the modules are kept in python23.zlib now. :lol:

i've had a few people telling me that they couldn't run xbmcmail, and that the error given was 'importerror: no module named poplib'. after looking in to this it seems that the /xbmc/python/lib folder is empty in the python.rar file that's in cvs, and therefore empty in all of the compiled binary distributions that have been released recently. the /xbmc/python/lib folder on my xbox is full of python modules including poplib, so i'm assuming at some point python.rar also included all of these modules.
so were all of the python modules removed for a reason? or has something gone wrong somewhere?
