Change "Working" to have Progress Bar?
#16
I have an NVIDIA Shield, and that is fairly powerful. I don't see the spinner all that often, except when searching an online database for something (even with ethernet). I am mainly interested in having a progress bar for these online searches. I am also trying to set up a generic Kodi template with various add-ons for a device I bought my in-laws. The device isn't nearly as powerful as my Shield.

Do you have any suggestions on A) How to mod Mimic to have a progress bar? B) A skin pretty much like Mimic, except with a progress bar?

I pushed an update to Mimic 5 that will display the progress bar (I think). If you want to test, you'll need to:

1) Install Kodi 17 (https://kodi.tv/download/)
2) Install Mimic from the Kodi repository (addonbrowser). This will ensure that the dependencies are installed.
3) Manually install via zip the latest Mimic from github (https://github.com/braz96/skin.mimic/archive/master.zip)

How are you doing online searches? I'd like to test if I can, I haven't been able to get the busy dialog to show up.

Awww. Looks like I won't be able to install it any time soon. Since I use the NVIDIA Shield, I also use SPMC, a fork of Kodi. SPMC supports voice search, which I'm absolutely not willing to part with now that I'm used to it. SPMC doesn't have a Krypton version, as of yet.

But thank you for doing this!

Right now I am setting everything up on my PC, so when I get the chance, I want to backup all my data, install Krypton on my PC, and test all this out for future usage.

If you're running Windows on your PC, you can install Kodi 17 in its own folder and run it in portable mode. That would allow you to test without affecting your current install.

Are you using a mouse? Last I checked you could click on the progress bar, will test again when I get a chance. I normally have mouse input turned off.
