Where are configuration files? I want to mod...
#1
I really like Estuary v2. The only thing I would like different is to be able to add a custom main menu item. I know that this can't be done through the GUI so I was hoping I could tinker with some xml files and do it manually. The first road block is that I can't find where the configuration files for estuary are located. Can someone help me find them? (If anyone has any tips on what I will need to change in what xml file(s), feel free to chime in as well.)

It would be nice having an "Estuary v2 MOD" skin indeed. I'm liking Estuary v2 a little too much, most likely because it (for some reason) runs a lot faster on my S905X device than v1.
Anyway, as for where the config files you're talking about are located, I'd assume they're in your http://kodi.wiki/view/userdata folder, although I could be wrong.

By the way, have you tried checking out the "Re-Estuarized" skin? If "Estuary MOD" isn't your cup of tea, maybe Re-Estuarized is more to your liking? It's based on Estuary v2, and so far I'm loving it. Smile

If you go to where Kodi is installed, then within the Kodi install folder find \addons\skin.estuary\xml and in there should be home.xml file for the home screen with the main menu, open this file with a text editor program, for example on Windows I'd recommend using Notepad++ (not to be confused with Microsoft Notepad).

Thanks. I was looking in the user data folder and couldn't find it. I found out where you said.

Thanks. I check out Re-Estuarized. If it does what I want, that will be much easier than modding myself.

If you decide to start modding, please try SublimeText in combination with https://packagecontrol.io/packages/KodiDevKit
That combination will make sure that easy mistakes are avoided since it includes lot of sanity checks and is much superior to any other text editor out there.
