v17 CRASH when scrolling very quickly movies
#1
I finished importing my library (local NFO only) and I was scrolling very quickly to the right using the scroll bar:
enter in movies
press down (skin with horizontal list)
keep pressed right

after a little it crashes:

Have not been able to replicate this, all my files are local - perhaps this is a network issue?

All my files are on net Smile
images are cached locally

This has been happening as long as I can remember.
Hold scroll left or right horizontal view local media.
It starts to scroll for a couple seconds, hesitates, coughs, sneezes, and keels over.
Error: Exception caught on main loop exiting.

I think image cache is wonky because until all hard drives are spun-up, you can't even navigate. I'm using 8 drives and it appears cache is doing nothing and wants to read from drives instead since local takes precedence perhaps?
Others say this is impossible and it's just my setup or to set drives to never spin down. No, I don't want all the drives spinning constantly and needlessly. Besides, it crashes with or without all the drives spun up. I don't think it has anything to do with artwork write time from the GPU either but I'm no expert. I just know these are symptoms that occur without fail. Posted all of this a couple times with logs but never got any replies.

Have you tried any steps to try to fix this?

1. What skin are you using? Try the same thing using the Confluence Skin, does the problem still persist?

2. Instead of Horizontal view, try vertical view, do you get the same crash? Did you try this on the default Confluence Skin?

3. I see you are running with Restricted rights, have you tried giving full rights and see if the problem persists.

4. Are you using TV Tunes add-on? If so, turn this off and see if the problem persists.

I've got a huge library (3000+ HD Movies, and 720+ TV Series), on a NAS (FreeNAS, 32Gigs Ram, 48TB space), using the skin Aeon MQ7 (and MQ6 and ACE skin before that) and have never encountered this issue. Oh, and this is on both an Intel NUC, and Nvidia Shield Android TV.

Good point. It is skin specific. Using Titan. Off to see the wizard.

Must be, have 12 drives online (no issues with drives spinning up or down), using skin T! Icon or cover flow views without a hitch or gliche and large library. I did try and replicate with Estuary, seemed to function well, as suggested might be in the cache. I tried with mouse wheel and moving the bar and using arrow keys. This new friction-less mouse wheel makes random choices easy!
